I wrote this book a few years ago to work out in my own mind which corner I stood on at the intersection of politics and theology. I think I already knew which corner I stood on, but I had no idea how I got there or why I felt the way I did. The book was deemed too radical for Christian publishers, and I was apparently not qualified enough to write such a thing (read: a musician) for mainstream publishers. Maybe, in the end, it just fell short of the mark. I, as a former A&R guy, ought to know. I still think it was a great exercise for me; I did a ton of research, learned how to write a book, and came out the other end with a much better idea of where I stand. I'm over there on the left corner. It used to be a lonely place for a me as a Christian, but that is changing more and more all the time.
I am currently writing an historical novel about events in the very recent past. I promise that it will be funny.
